Orphan Bears

LAUNCH

The new Orphan bears have had their first real outing. They were exhibited to bear shops at two exhibitions this month and they can now be found in a few bear shops up and down the country. As soon as I have a proper list I will add it in here. In the meantime you can still visit the website and adopt your new Orphans.

BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND: CHARLIE (her real name is Charlotte) AND HARRY

These are all designed by one of our Teddy Bear Orphanage designers:

Pops, Mummy Bear, Karl and Lee (the terrible twins) were designed by Irene Tutte from Germany

Grandpa Terrence and Grandma Sophie were designed by Iris Chesney in England

Baby Bear, Roxie and the loved ones, Charlie and Harry by Lyn-Louise Morris

So you know they are bears of character. As I am sure you know, to have bears with style, character and something unique about them and yet have them manufactured to a price that is affordable, so that they are found on the high street is not an easy task. That is why the artist bear industry has grown up and what The Teddy Bear Orphanage have dedicated ourselves to. However, we knew that there were many more people who wanted to have one of our orphans but they could not afford the artist bear price tag. Hence Orphan Bears was born. It has been a long time in the making but here at last are our masterpieces. Please check them out, you will be pleasantly suprised. They even each have a tattoo on their foot, just like the artist bears!

Something to watch out for, Mummy bear holds baby in her arms and her hands are held together by magnets, so that you can choose how to sit them. Charlie and Harry kiss noses - ohhh, they are boyfriend and girlfriend after all!

Rescued Bear

SUCCESS STORY

This charming old Chad Valley bear has been given a new lease of life. He was in a sorry state when we rescued him. I wish I could show a photograph of him 'before' but he was too embarassed to let me publish it. No eyes, no nose and excuse for pads and claws. Now look at this charming bear, beaming out with happiness. He is so thankful to us and wants to show everyone how happy he is. Visit our Rescued Bears Range of bears for his fellow adopted brothers and sisters.

BREAOrphan BearsKING NEWS

Our BIG new VENTURE!!!

We have started our very own brand, called Orphan Bears™. You can see the logo and keep a watch by going to the link on the home page. It is our hope that by the 1st September you will really have something new to see. Initially there will be 10 bears in the range but more will be constantly added. They make a complete Orphanage of bears to collect and as we write the stories of their lives it will be interesting to learn about their antics.

We do not envisage Orphan Bears plush range of teds ever replacing the artist bears from the Teddy Bear Orphanage but simply acting as a way to appeal to a much wider audience and so encouraging the bear collecting bug. They will be able to be bought (adopted) from a wide number of high street stores, along with accessories such as pens, pencils and pencil cases, to mention just a few!

NEW FORMAT WEBSITE.

The fact that you are here, shows that you have found our new website. I hope you enjoy all the improvements and changes that reflect e-commerce in the year 2004. Our old website, which many thought was really innovative when it came out 3 years ago, was not great for us as users. Due to the software that we had to licence we were unable to materially change what was on the site, you missed out on news and gossip from the Orphanage. We have, therefore, incorporated the front flash of the old site (which many of you tell us you really enjoy) with the practicalities of getting down to business, that is 'the bears' along with news and latest information. The bears can still be purchased (adopted) from our ebay site which can be accessed through the link on the home page, all this obviously saves us money which we in turn can pass on in lower adoption fees to yourselves. A win/win situation all round.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

These are being written by the bears as I type. It does take them quite a long time as they are not the best at writing and Sarah often has to lend a hand but they are trying very hard to have them ready for early posting so that they all arrive in good time for Christmas. The bears keep telling me that the cards to go abroad must go out early.

COMING VERY SOON

The Christmas termly report is in creation. It will not be long before the much awaited edition will wing its way to our members. There will be discounted bears and a discount voucher enclosed.

Teddy Bear Scene Advert November 04

Hi there. Lots happening now it is Christmas. Bears are arriving every day and bears are leaving every day. What a journey they are having. They will now be entering the Christmas post and you know how confusing that can be, so we give them a good talking to and tell them to be happy and just wait, they will arrive soon enough. IF YOU WANT A BEAR FOR CHRISTMAS DO NOT DELAY TOO LONG.

This morning new arrivals landed on our doorstep from Germany. They were all sucking their thumbs and jumping for joy at their arrival. I tell you, they are so cute, they have face shading, sculptured pads, one has claws, others a tongue but all are absolutely wonderful. We are doing our best to put them on the site as quickly as possible for you, as we know that many are going to be off before Christmas. We are processing their paperwork, arranging for adoption certificates and the German passports have all had their visas stamped. So do not delay.

Best news of all is possibly the Santa Specials - 20% off the retail prices on some of the German Steiff bears. They are certainly worth dropping in on. Prices are keen this year but the bears are as wonderful as ever.

Good news, telephone troubles are now over. Back to the old number of 01744 812274.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
